Going Private...

My Buddy Nate...

For those of you that know my little Natey, know that he is quite the Momma/Daddy's boy.  He can often be found playing on his own, or clinging to my legs with every step I take during the day.  He is my little growth, and only every once in a while he will play with Gracie and Ben. I was extremely nervous about Julia coming to our home, knowing this about Nate. However, he has taken the opposite effect, he has become the protective big brother. He loves Julia and cares about her so much.  He calls her "My Baby Julia."  It is amazing how fast they grow up, looking at these pictures, I can't believe how big he is.  He was our "baby" for so long!

We are loving our new little baby! She is so much fun, and so good.  I can't believe she is almost 2 weeks old, she is already growing up to fast.  Except for having her nights and days mixed up, she is really the best baby. Thankfully everyday she is figuring it out more and more.  It is amazing all the stuff you forget!  She is such a blessing to our home.  The kids are LOVING her, and they just love to sit and watch her and giggle at all the little sounds and movements she makes.  Fun.. Fun... My mom just left on Tuesday, so real life has begone, and knock on wood, I think we can do this! Ask me what I think in a week or so... hehe

 Julia's first Bath!  She was composed for most of it, but it was only a matter of time before she had to let it go.

The Best day..

She's here!  Julia Isabelle Perkes was born May 15, 2009.  She weighed 7lbs 6 ounces, and 21 inches long.  I was supposed to go in to be induced at 7:00am but they had a big rush of women coming in that morning, and so they couldn't take me until 10:45am.  They gave me pitocin at around 11:30 and then broke my water at 12:05pm and my epidural at 1:00pm.  My labor was really steady, my contractions were a steady 3 minutes apart for hours with not a ton of intensity. Then all of the sudden I was at a 9 1/2 and the doctor came in and told me that there was a women next door who had a slight emergency and we were at the exact same stage, however her taking some priority over me.  At that point, I was like, "Lets just do this," I really wanted him to deliver me! So six quick pushes later Julia was born!  It was great... the epidural worked amazing, the best I have ever had, and my team of Doctors and nurses was outstanding.  I just felt so blessed and so grateful that everything went as well as it did.  Julia was so cute, before she was even all the way out she was screaming, she had us really nervous cause everytime someone would talk she would cry!  We thought she was going to be a little bit sensitive, when in reality she has been the quietest best baby.  She just had to get it all out right then and there, I guess!  I have had some scary deliveries and it was so wonderful to have such a good experience.  Here are a few Pictures of that morning, we will try and get more up later.

Nate was toatally wigged out, and Big Ben held her for 20 seconds and then said.."Grandma, I'm done."

Our amazing nurse Brooke! She was the best nurse I've ever had, she stayed an extra shift so she could see me through everthing.  I was so grateful!

Friday is the Day!

Sorry I havn't updated my posting, but I did not deliver my baby today!  I was going to, and then I decided to hang on because my mother doesn't fly in till Friday, and we all know that is a very important piece to the baby having puzzle.  So instead of changing her flight for a few days earlier we have decided that Friday will be just fine.  Having it be already be Tuesday, and to think that I could be done with the whole labor and delivery part by now is a little nervy, but ohh well, whats a few more days right?  So unless I go early, Friday is the Day, and I will try and post as soon as I can all the details!

Baby Update...

Went to the Doctor today, and was at a 2.  I was not that surprised, that is pretty typical for me at 37 weeks.  He said he would take me on the 12th though if nothing has happened before then! Thats always nice to here, any sort of "sooner" is better than later.  We'll keep ya posted, I have another appointment in a week.
