The Snow is Over Taking Us!

As you can see we have a little bit of snow here in Frostburg, Idaho!  Wow, it has been a crazy February we finally had a sunny day today. These pictures are taken on a back-road in some potato fields that we live by, and drive through to get to our new house.  We have been wanting to catch these drifts...(is there a pun there?).. before they melted down.  These are the biggest drifts I have ever seen in my life, and they line this road for about 2 miles, it feels like you are driving down a snow tunnel.  I will post a picture of our neighborhood tomorrow, cause everyone is covered in snow.  I was telling my mom, if we were to throw Ben off our Porch, into our front yard we would lose him.  The snow would be well over his head!  We don't have anything blocking our yard, and we live right next to a huge field, so that doesn't help.  Our poor UPS guy and mail lady just love us!  Our steps are about waist deep under the snow and we can't control it cause of the wind. Fun times... needless to say we are so ready for spring around here! Anyone Else??

Our little Nashville Star!

Ben has been so much fun lately, he received a guitar for Christmas, and plays it non stop.  He is becoming a pro at recognising his favorites on CMT and the Radio. He loves to "play" Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw.  Such a funny boy, maybe someday he'll be able to look back on these pictures and say he's been singing since he was 3!  (That's what they always say on Idol...) =)

LGN Challenge...

Here we go... Tomorrow marks the start of our "LGN" body/weight loss challenge.  Today we had crepes for lunch and Pancakes for dinner.  (Gracie was craving Pancakes all week, and crepes are a Sunday tradition) We sort of had a farewell to Junk food this weekend and this was just the icing on the cake.  Whew... I am so ready to start part of my new years res. and tone up and get ready for yet another ST. George Marathon. (Hurray!)  Jake and I put together a couples challenge kind of like a "Biggest Loser" challenge, but it is not going to be all based on weight loss, there are lots of components. We have about 8 couples competing so far and we are so excited! For those of you that know us, Jake and I love a little competition =). It is going from January 14, 2008 until April 28th.  Anyone that wants to jump on the band wagon is welcome!  We have a couple of requirements like you have to be in a pair (doesn't have to be married couples, it can be friends also) a Before and After Photo and a $100 per couple "entry" fee that goes in a pot, and the winners take all!  It actually all goes towards a Caribbean Cruise or an equivalent trip. (Jake promised to pick up the rest of the cost that the pot doesn't fill! Thanks Babes!) Fun, Fun!!  For those of you with workingout on your resolution list, this could be a fun way to do it, let me know by Wednesday and I'll send you all the stuff, and we'll count ya in!!  Good Luck Everyone!

Tag

I have been tagged so here goes...
My Husband....

What is his name?  Jacob Robert Perkes

How long have you been together?  We have been married for 5 1/2 wonderful years.

How long did you date? 6 months dated, 4 months engaged.

Where did you meet?  We met coming home from an outside school dance at BYU I.  Jake ended up living literally across the street. Our bedroom windows could see each other.

How old is he?  27

Who eats more?  Depends on what it is.... we make crepes every Sunday, and for some reason I put down more than him by far... Normally he can eat more than me, but I am not afraid to admit I have always had a big appetite. =)

Who said I love you first?  Jake

Who is taller? Jake.  That was sort of one of my two criteria for who I was going to marry. He had to be able to beat me in Basketball (most of the time), and he had to be taller than me.  Lucky for me I got both! =)

Who sings better?  I think maybe me, but Jake voice gets better all the time. Especially since Keith Urban entered our relationship... we are both sort of addicted to his music and Jake does a good impersonation.

Who is smarter? Jake is one of the smartest people I know.  Seriously, he is so stinkin smart in so many things.  He has me on street smarts by a long shot.  I have him on the books only because I care... if he cared I am afraid he would have me beat there too.. (Don't tell him that though, I like having one thing I am better at)

Who does the laundry?  I wash, we fold together.  We usually wait until we have Mt. Ranier to wash and fold, so we make a party out of folding once a week.  You think that I would change that, but I kind of like our folding parties...

Who does the dishes?  I do, sometimes Jake suprizes me, but mostly me.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?  Jake

Who pays the bills?  Me, thank goodness for Billpay.

Who mows the lawn?  Jake, I think he enjoys it.

Who cooks dinner?  I do.. unless we BBQ.

Who drives when you are together?  Always Jake, I like it that way and so does Jake.  Plus he makes me nervous when I drive with him in the car.

Who is more stubborn?  Depends on who you ask... it is a funny argument that we have.  Gracie had to have gotten it from one of us!

Who kissed who first?  I am not a forward girl, but Jake was not getting the fact that we had been dating for 2 months and by then your supposed to kiss a girl that you are dating seriously! I had to give him a little reminder, unfortunately I was a little nervous and I missed, I kissed the corner of his mouth. He still teases me to this day!

Who asked who out?  He did. I have never been so excited in my life.

Who proposed?  Thankfully him.. I didn't have to do everything in the relationship!  He proposed to me in the coolest place.  He grew up in Teton Idaho  for 10 years, and was able to get into the house that his parents owned, and made me dinner there and showed me around , and purposed there.  Feb. 10th 2002.

Who is more sensitive?  I am, but Jake fortunately can be very sensitive.  He is a guy, guy in so many ways,  but he has a major sensitive side.  We are both big chickens when it comes to Roller coasters, and scary or violent movies, we don't like the sight of blood or needles (unfortunetly I am the one that has to get the kids shots or take care of them when they crash and bleed)  Jake almost passes out at the sight of blood.  Ask him about when I gave birth to Gracie!

Who has more friends?  I think we are even.  I keep in touch with old friends more than he does, but he his work buddies.

Who has more siblings? Jake has 4 brothers, I have 3.

Who wears the pants in the family?  Hahha... this is a funny question, because we always talk about this.  It depends on the issue.  For the most part we are pretty equal.

I tag:
Kami, and Mandy and anyone else that hasn't done it.  =)

Make over blog edition...

Hello everyone! As you can see I did a little makeover on my blog! I did not do it on purpose, I was just messing around with changing my template from boring brown to something a little more vibrant.  (I chose black instead!) =)  I accidentally erased all my music and all my contacts. Oops... the music was easy to revise, but the contacts were not.  So... if you are not in my list... so sorry!  Please if your contact is not on my list let me know cause the ones that I have I was able to dig up from emails and other blogs. I love how most of us are all connected to each other.  What a great feature... Anyways.. I hope you like our new family pictures. They were taken by Jake's mom. I was so happy with them, she did an amazing job as usual.  What a talent that good women has...  It takes a whole lot of love and patience to photograph 3 small children and get them all to smile.  I have to give a shout out to Pa's "bam" though, without it we would not have the amazing light that we did, and amazing smiles. Thanks Pa!  Hope everyone had a great holiday. We had the most amazing Christmas.  Both Jakes family and my family and my grandma were at our house.  It was so much fun and even though we didn't have our new home to gather in, it was all the better.  It forced us all to get to know each other better, and that was a lot of fun.   Hopefully we will get to do it again soon.

Ohh Christmas Tree..

Here is our tree this year, it was a pleasant surprise. We picked it out from Broulims lot. It was all tied up with twine, and it was super skinny. Gracie was not impressed. She actually cried when we loaded it on the car, and said, "oh momma not that tree, its squished." So cute. We brought it home and cut the twine and it just blossomed right before our eyes! It was super full and pretty. We were so excited seeing as it only cost $30. All of the other lots in the neighborhood were chargin up to $70, for a tree! Holy Cow, that is crazy. SO we thought we would give our little local grocery store a chance, and once again they pulled through for us. Hurray! I took on sort of a goldish brownish theme this year. Not a huge gold fan normally, but with Christmas, it just sort of works. Ill try to get a picture in the day that wont be so dark. I can't believe we only have 12 more sleeps till Christmas. Yikes!!

December!!

Holy Cow, it has been forever. We have been so busy around here it is not even funny. Everyone is coming to our house for Christmas and we have been having so much fun getting ready for the festivities! Unfortunately we won't be in our house. We will miss it by about 3 weeks, but ohh well, we will make it feel homey no matter where we are. We just might all be sleeping on top of one-another, but there will be lots of love to go around! My parents and Jakes parents are all coming for Christmas. We are going to have an absolute ball. As long as I can stay organized, I know I will pull this off, and maybe people will want to come back again. =) I will be blogging to let you know how it goes. But as you can see we have some snow! Jake decided that he needed something to "plow" with. I was ready to bust out the shovels, but he seemed to think that this would work a little better. Hmmm sneaky sneaks. We ended up getting an ATV that apparently does everything but fly. I love my husband, he is like a little boy when it comes to this sort of stuff. He got his present a little early this year! It has been really fun watching Ben just light up lately. He loves to go for rides with Dad. Gracie is a lot like me. We have fun watching them have fun...-) It is fun to drive though. Anyways hopefully I wont take forever and a day to update this again. Happy Holidays to All!
